ALLIGATOR INDIAN: NEW WEIRD XMAS

Drooped the ball on this one. Anywho, the latest incarnation of my band, Alligator Indian (formerly Eleven &the Falcons), have released their debut EP. It’s FREE to stream and download and happens to also be a Christmas album. But don’t worry, the songs aren’t strictly tied to the season and can be enjoyed all year round. Enjoy, and check us out on Tumblr and Twitter for all the latest news and updates.

YIP-YIP: BEEN CAUGHT STEALING

HAPPY 2011 ASSHOLES! To start the year off right, my bros over in Yip-Yip have sent a New Year treat for us all. For the first time, they’re debuting full-song vocals which they use to make Jane’s Addiction sound cooler than they have any right to be.

Their cover of “Been Caught Stealing” gives you a taste of what’s to come in the Yip’s future. If you follow them on Twitter, you know they’e been hard at work on a new album which will feature vocals. Let’s all hope we see the release of it next year because this song has made my appetite so whettttt. If you couldn’t hear the Devo influence before, there’s no denying it now. And that’s definitely a good thing. 2011 could us some de-evolution.

ELIJAH WOOD, SETH ROGEN, and DANNY McBRIDE To Star In BEASTIE BOYS Short Film

That’s right. Adam Yauch aka MCA, will be directing a short film based around their 1987 “(You Gotta) Fight For Your Right (To Party)” video that will star starring Elijah Wood as Ad-Rock, Seth Rogen as Mike D, and Danny McBride playing MCA. The film will follow-up on the events of the video and will co-star Jack Black, Jon C. Riley, and Will Ferrell. It will of course, be awesome. It’s part of the recently announce Sundance list of short-films, so there should be more info and a trailer soon. You can head to AV Club for the rest of the list which includes a Tim and Eric film about two dudes havin’ a baby.

PAVEMENT: CUT YOUR HAIR (Live On THE TONIGHT SHOW, 1994)

In a similar vein to the Oasis performance I posted yesterday, here’s Pavement performing “Cut Your Hair” live on The Tonight Show. I’ve heard Pavement are terrible live, but if it’s anything like this, I think their doing it on purpose. At least on this occasion they were. Not surprising that one of the original indie bands would try and take the piss out of a show and audience that had most likely never heard of them before.

Watch LOU FERRIGNO, Half of MILLI VANILLI, and More Lip-Sync “LET IT BE” For a Norwegian TV Show

What to say about this. Tom told us we should watch this last night. All he said was it was a bunch of celebrities lip-syncing “Let It Be” for a Norwegian TV show, and that we could expect to see people ranging from Glenn Close to the guy who play Bud (David Faustino) on Married With Children. What we ended up watching was so much more than that. Enjoy everyone from Judd Nelson to the actor who played young Forrest Gump, as they not only lip-sync, but play air guitar and sometimes just stand and stare at you on a blue screen beach.

According to the YouTube comments, this is a promo for a show called Golden Times where “heroes” from 80s and 90s culture are revisited.

OASIS: CHAMPAGNE SUPERNOVA (Live At The 1996 VMAs)

I don’t know if he was mad he was performing “Champagne Supernova,” mad that he was singing at the VMAs, or was mad at something entirely different. As usual, Liam Gallagher has a temper, and we all benefit. Watch the entire thing and keep your eyes on him as he slurs his words, makes odd faces at the audience, and attempts to do everything with his mouth but sing.

[Note: Please ignore the first few seconds of the video. Whoever ripped it decided he needed to obnoxiously announce himself beforehand.]

ELEVEN &THE FALCONS: SLOWLY ’66/ALLIGATOR IN THE CAVE

Here’s the brand new music video for my band, Eleven &the Falcons. It’s a colorful and haunting tale for our song “Slowly ’66/Alligator In The Cave” from our full-length The Death Vine, available for FREE from KillerPOP Records. The clip was created by my film collective, Dead Serials. Enjoy you awesome assholes.
