Anyone familiar with WordPress knows that they give you a list of the top searches that led to your blog. It’s always illuminating to see the round about ways people stumble across your posts. Now this first installment of a stats and reader boosting gimmick I sort of stole from PDD, is pretty straight forward. The three top searches all directly relate to posts I made. Now, rather than actually find some new, interesting bit of info related to these items and then making a post about them, I decided to let Google do the work.
Top search #1: civil war facts
Here’s the original post and here’s some other great links for you.
Top search #2: food puns
Original and bonus.
Top search #3: chris ware
Mine & theirs.
I’m a huge history nerd, so when I came across this article from Mental Floss (via CNN), it was like I just busted open 7 Snapple caps. “Seven Civil War stories your teacher never told you” is exactly what the title suggests. And even if you’re not that into the history of how you came to live the life you do (kids these days…), I bet you’ll still get a kick outta some of my favorite tidbits: The Union Army Balloon Corps, “Dixie” was the “Born In The USA” of the 1860s, and apparently Mark Twain was a total pussy.
