Must have missed these when I posted the last batch (close to a year ago today!). I keep telling my girlfriend I can’t find January Jones attractive after how nasty Betty Draper has turned out, but these pictures prove how very wrong I am. Hope we see her in full Emma Frost attire when X-Men: First Class debuts.

Guess what rumor is circulating the nerd-net now? Yeah, Jon Hamm as Superman may be an actual possibility. Called that shit.
Before I start, let me say that this is completely theoretical on my part. Normally I would never post things like this, but I read a post that seems to match up with a wish I had, and I wanna play it out. So, ComicBookMovie posted an inside ‘scoop’ today where they spoke with someone who claims to have knowledge of the preceedings for the new Superman film. All that is known officially thus far is that Christopher Nolan is shepherding the project (whatever that means) and David S. Goyer is writing it based on an idea the two men had. There have been rumors that Chris’s brother/collaborator Johnathan will make his directoral debut with the film. Nothing else has been confirmed about the film.
But this article, which you can read here, not only offers more potential info on the film, but drops some interesting clues about who would plays Superman/Clark Kent. The source says “… it is a TV star that they’re looking at for the lead…[he’s a] popular TV actor that no one is thinking of, but everyone will be thrilled with if he pulls on the blue tights” That’s the only hint we have.
Now, I’ve been finally watching all of 30 Rock and recently got to Season 3 where Jon Hamm (Mad Men) has a few guest appearances. In one, he appears with fly-away hair, glasses, and casual wear that includes a flannel shirt (you can see some of it in the picture at the top). It struck me then that Hamm would be the perfect look and caliber of actor to pull off the task of being the average, mousy Kent, and the powerful, just Superman.
If there’s any validity to the source’s rumors, then the critically-acclaimed Hamm would seem an obvious choice. Who else on TV holds a candle to him, not to mention he has the perfect look and build for Superman. And we know he looks good in a suit. So, like I said, all my speculation based on this unfounded quote from an unknown source. But I sure hope I’m right.
It’s slightly old news that John Slattery (from AMC’s Mad Men) will be playing Tony Stark’s father, Howard, in Iron Man 2. But yesterday the news broke that he will also reprise the role for The First Avenger: Captain America due out next summer. Though anyone familiar with Captain America will know that it’s only a reprise in the cinematic sense, as the Captain America time line will happen before the Iron Man one. You know, during World War II. And in other Cap news, Hugo Weaving has been officially cast as the Red Skull (Cap’s arch-enemy).

A lot of my celebrity crushes have started showing more skin lately. From Sarah Silverman to Zooey Deschanel, these girls have always had the goods, but they’re finally getting around to showing them off. But with my current Mad Men obsession, no skin is more appreciated than that of January Jones. We’ve seen plenty of her in her underwear on the show, and it’s always appreciated. But with her uptight, 50s housewife persona dominating the moments, it’s nice to see her put on some leather and lace, and to take off some layers.
More photos and her interview thanks to the heroes at GQ.
